I bought the size Toddler M (3-4) after reading all reviews - and I was right. It fits my 5-year old daughter.
I measured the costume:
Length (shoulder to fin): 35,4 inch
breast: 11.4
waist: 12.2
backside: 13.4
Leaves: 13
My daughter is 41.34 tall and her waist is 22.4 and it fits perfect.
The costume is very stretchy. Some glitter points fell off. The top is wide, so that the leaves sometimes fall of the shoulders.

My daughter really wanted a mermaid dress-up outfit that came down over her feet, so it looked like a real mermaid fin. This one is perfect and has held up better than the Disney version at the same price. Definitely would recommend. She loves it. The sizing may run a tad big. My daughter is a tall, but slim 4T and the 3-4 T fits her perfectly.

I ordered this costume online and read the reviews about size/fit. It did run very big! The length was good for my daughter (she is an average size 5 year old and I ordered the 3T. The top was very big. I had to sew it at the shoulders to keep it up on her. However, she wore it three times (for a total of more than 12 hours) and played hard and it held up well. Started to come apart a little at one shoulder but overall I was very happy with this product. I would buy it again in hindsight.

I already did a review on this costume on Amazon.com. Interestingly, it isn't showing up now. Last October, I bought this costume in size 2T/4T and had to sew up the length 4 inches and take about 4 inches in on the sides. My daughter is almost 4 years old and in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. She wears a 5T or small girls size 4/5 and this 2T-4T costume was WAY, WAY TOO BIG on her. I spent hours sewing it so it wouldn't fall off of her shoulders and/or cause her to trip on the length. Costume was very disappointing and I wonder why the sizing was so off. The manufacturer did say it ran big but it was ridiculously big and the 2T/4T would probably be big on most 6 or 7 yr olds. Most parents have better things to do than sew! Consumers who like to sew for hours will like this costume....everyone else should buy something else!

I read the reviews posted here, checked out the manufacturers' website so I could measure my daughter and order the correct size. My daughter is 5 and wears a 6/6x. Upon analyzing her measurements I ordered her the Toddler 4-6. My package arrived within 3 days (I had it shipped to my mother for our upcoming trip to Disney World). The package indicted it was a Medium 4T-6T. However, and I didn't realize this until the 2nd time she wore this to visit with the princesses, that the actual costume was a SMALL 2T-3T. At first I was upset (b/c I'd like for her to have it for more than our one week vacation), but it fit her perfectly (just like a mermaid). My daughter is TALL for her age and the bottom of the "fins" came just above her ankle, which really was perfect for us since she was walking around Magic Kingdom wearing this. I didn't contact shipping company or Amazon to complain b/c she wore it, it fits beautifully and it definitely made my little Ariel's dreams come true. Comes with a headband that is cheaper than anything but my daughter still loved it and insisted on wearing it even after having her hair done at Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. Does NOT come with Boa despite what you see on package design cover or the advertised picture.
