My boys loved the lightsaber's until one of them broke about 2 days after getting it. I will order another one because they have such a great time playing StarWars.

My son was Anakin this Halloween and used the accessory to complete the costume. It states that it is not battle ready and rightly so. The telescoping saber is flimsy and inconsistently manufactured. It would seem that most have a curve in them rather than being straight and true. It also broke on one drop. My son's friend had the same red saber and that one broke before Halloween. It is a good thing that tape and wire ties make for a good look on the light-saber.
They are cheap enough, but the quality definitely offset the cost savings. Good thing Halloween only lasts for one day.

My son enjoyed having the light saber to complement his Anakin Skywalker Halloween costume, but was disappointed that it did not light up. I ordered it quickly and missed this little detail, apparently. So to all parents purchasing this light saber, it does NOT in fact light up. :) Hope that this review helps others from making this all too frequent parental error :)

It's ok... It's exactly like the lightsaber toys you can find at Wal Mart or Target or any Dollar Store around Halloween... Mine hasn't broken yet and lights up fine...

I bought this as part of my 8yr old son's Halloween costume. He played with it ONE time (for about 1/2hr) as soon as he got it & it broke (EVEN BEFORE HE GOT TO USE IT WITH HIS COSTUME!!!!). The plastic cap that held the batteries cracked (it was VERY difficult for me to get it on & off to install the batteries to begin with!!) so it wouldn't even light up!! The whole purpose-LIGHTsaber!!!!!!=(
